50 enrolled nurses and midwives arrive in Ghana for top-up training in nursing and midwifery

To improve on the skills of some selected Sierra Leonean Enrolled Nurses and Midwives, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, an agency under the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

The MoU allows MSF to train fifty (50) enrolled nurses and midwives from Sierra Leone in a two-year Registered Diploma in Nursing/Midwifery programme in Ghana.

The trainees after undergoing the 2-year Registered Diploma in Nursing/ Midwifery programme will sit for the Council’s licensing examination in Ghana after which they will graduate and be inducted in Sierra Leone.

The 50 Enrolled nurses and midwives arrived in Ghana on January 10, 2018.
