The Youth and Employment Agency, Ghana has launched a new programme called YEA WORK ABROAD. The programme seeks to recruit health workers to the United Kingdom. experienced health professionals who have a diploma or degree from an accredited public or private institution in Ghana can apply for the Care Job in the United Kingdom. Applicants must have an IELTS score of 6 in order to apply.
According to the YEA, the initiative is designed to streamline and play an active role in promoting safe, secured, and orderly jobs for Ghanaian youth abroad. While this seems to be good news for health workers, it contradicts the statement of Dr. Nsia Asare, the Presidential Advisor on Health who earlier pleaded nurses should stay in the country and help develop the health sector.
