The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, GRNMA, has warned its members not to fill any medical insurance forms. According to GRNMA, Ghana Health Service has issued an insurance form for nurses and midwives to fill for subsequent deduction of a specific amount of money from their basic salary.
GRNMA has tasked its regional executives to inform all members of the association that Ghana Health Service has not engaged the leadership of GRNMA to explain the purpose and how the fund will be managed. According to GRNMA, a nurse or midwife cannot go into an individual agreement with the employer on such an issue as health insurance.
Nurses and Midwives are therefore advised not to fill any form but wait for a directive from the leadership of the Association.
