GRNMA HEALTH FUND: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

The GRNMA Health Fund was established in January 2017, and it is now operated with 6% proceeds from the association’s monthly dues.

The GRNMA Health Fund covers every dues-paying member!

Objectives

The GRNMA health fund is established to:

  1. mitigate the cost of treatment for members with disease burden outside the NHIS coverage.
  2. support members suffering from all categories of cancers and undergoing therapy.
  3. support those who are involved in major RTAs and natural disasters such as fire outbreaks, floods, etc.

Eligibility criteria

The fund is accessible to all dues-paying members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association

The GRNMA takes cognizance of the fact that all members are employees of the various agencies and therefore recognizes the contributions of all employers to the health care of members and for this matter shall entreat the employer to play a leading role in the event of any form of incapacitation or ill health of its members.

The Association will thus come in to support any affected member in line with its social obligation as prescribed in the GRNMA Health Fund policy.

The Application Process

Complete the GRNMA Health Fund (Financial Assistance) Application form.

Attach copies of the following documents that apply to you:

3 copies of most recent pay slips with evidence of association dues.

a copy of a letter to the facility/employer request for medical support by the member (signed letter)

(It must be, however, noted that where the state of the ill-health makes it very impossible for the member to put in the application, a family member or district chairman could do so on behalf of the member).

a cover letter from the facility or employer

a medical report stating the type of disease/diagnosis and cost.

Your Completed and Signed Financial Assistance Application Form must be submitted to the District Chairman through the facility GRNMA coordinator to the regional secretariat and addressed to the President of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association.

NB: Submitting of the form does not necessarily mean approval will be given to your request.
