The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) held its 16th Biennial Delegates Conference at Cape Coast in the Central Region. This year’s conference was themed: “Overhauling Nursing and Midwifery Education: Prospects for Professionalism and Quality Care” started with an opening ceremony on the 22nd of November and ended on 24th of November, 2017.
One key outcome of the conference was the increments in deductions by GRNMA. Delegates of the association voted in agreement to increase the various deductions by GRNMA. The following increments were made: GRNMA Dues – from 1.5% to 2% of basic salary which represents a 25% increment, Building Levy – from GHS 10.00 to GHS 20.00 which represent a 100% increment and Nurses Fund – from GHS 20.00 to GHS 50.00 which represent a 150% increment.

Greater Accra Region – 10 (for motion)

Volta Region – 2 (for motion) 8 (against motion)
Western Region – 8 (for motion) 2 (against motion)
Upper East Region – 5 (for motion) 5 (against motion)
Upper West Region – *Boycott.
