MALE NURSE ALLEGEDLY SUSPENDED FOR REFUSING TO SHAVE HIS BEARD?

A male nurse has been suspended for refusing to shave his beard. In a letter circulating on social media, a male nurse named Bugri Abdul-Rauf at the Baptist Medical Centre in Nalerigu has been suspended for 14 days without pay for keeping his beard.

According to the letter, at a general meeting of the nurses and midwives in the facility, the nurses and midwives were reminded to dress appropriately while on duty and male nurses not to keep their beards. Rauf on three occasions was reminded about his beard but refused to take action because he indicated that the beard is part of him and could not be removed.

As a result, a fourteen (14) days suspension from duty without pay effective today 29″, July 2022 was issued to Rauf and thus may only be considered if only he decides to the instructions.
