In a letter to the principals and directors of the Public Health Training Institutions, the Ministry of Health has stated that it has suspended the 2021/2022 academic calendar of Nursing and Midwifery Schools for the newly admitted students.
According to the Chief Director, Mr. Kwabena Boadu Oku-Afari who issued the letter, this is to allow the continuing students to complete the 2020/2021 academic work and enable the final year students to prepare for the Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examination which will commence in December 2021.
It was emphasized that the need for compliance to all COVID-19 protocols requires that the final year students would have vacated the school premises before the commencement of the 2021/2022 academic year.
However, the Ministry assured that the date of reopening for the newly admitted first-year students will be communicated in the appropriate time.
