NMC GHANA ORGANISES ITS 6TH CREDENTIALLING FORUM

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana organized its credentialing forum, which took place at the Rev. Veronica Darko Conference Room at the head office of the N&MC in Accra from February 6–10, 2023.

The objective of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) according to the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act 2013 (Act 857) is to secure in the public interest the highest standard of nursing and midwifery training and practice. Additionally, Act 857 mandates the N&MC to ensure that the training of nurses and midwives is carried out in improved facilities.

In furtherance of its statutorily defined mandate, the N&MC is conducting its 6th credentialing forum. The credentialing forum is a platform that brings institutions that have applied for professional accreditation from the NMC to train nurses and midwives face-to-face with the NMC for an evaluation of their respective applications.

The application includes initial applications for Professional Accreditation to run the nursing and midwifery programmes and renewal of existing accreditations that have expired.
