NMC TO DIGITIZE THE PATIENT AND FAMILY CARE STUDY

Published on

The nursing and midwifery Council of Ghana plans to digitize the Patient and Family Care Study. As a trainee nurse or midwife, the care study is one of the requirements for the completion of one’s training.

The Patient/Family Care Study is a detailed written report of nursing care rendered to an individual and his family within a specific period. It delves into the nursing care rendered from the time of encounter to termination of the nurse-patient relationship. It gives an in-depth description and explanation of how a patient’s response to a specified disease condition is diagnosed and given intervention.

According to the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana, Mr. Felix Nyante, the Council has planned to digitize the Patient and Family Care Study owing to recent trends in global digitization and organizational transformations. A Consortium was therefore formed on 2nd February 2021 to see through the digitization.
