A nurse who works at the Keta Municipal Hospital has been flogged by a landlord over his broken concrete blocks. According to reports, the incident occurred on the 28th of November when the nurse’s one-and-a-half-year-old son was playing in the house which resulted in the breakage of some of his newly molded concrete blocks. A confrontation ensued between them, and the landlord went to pick a cane and started flogging the nurse even though she agreed to pay for the damage. The nurse was saved by a midwife who is also a tenant in the house. She was then sent to the Keta Municipal Hospital for treatment.

The landlord who is believed to be a traditional ruler was arrested by the police after the incident was reported. He was then bailed out by some Chiefs from Keta. The landlord has since been arraigned before court for trial as the victim refused to drop the case after a plea from the landlord and some Chiefs.

According to some former tenants, they experienced some form of abuse from this same landlord.
