NURSES AND MIDWIVES “STRIKE” STARTS TODAY AS GOVERNMENT FAILS TO MEET DEMANDS

Published on

The past few days have been very intense as the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and its allied Association’s negotiations with the government over Condition of Service have stalled. This has mostly been due to the Government’s adamant position in meeting the demands of the association. However, the associations are still resilient in their fight for better conditions of service.

The strike action according to GRNMA’s directive starts today from 8:00 am across the country. Various categories of healthcare workers including Nurses, Midwives, Physician Assistants, and Certified Registered Anaesthetists will embark on this strike. It is however hoped that government comes into consensus with the associations to avoid any unfortunate incident in the health sector.
