Two robbers Isaac Kwame Bonsu, 19, and Mensah Christian, 18 who were convicted of a robbery have been sentenced to 20 years combined for robbing student nurses of the Goaso Nurses and Midwifery Training College.
According to Chief Inspector Daniel Tawiah, the incident happened on April 17 when the two persons attacked the students when they were returning to their hostel from night studies. The robbers armed with scissors ambushed the student nurses near the Methodist school compound at Goaso and made away with a Mobile Phone, cash, and other valuable items.
The two convicts pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and were therefore sentenced to 20 years combined by His Lordship Akwesi Acheampong by the Goaso circuit court on Friday, April 22, 2020.
