IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS, 36 NURSES AT KATH HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS

Published on

In the past few weeks, there has been a drastic surge in the rate of coronavirus infections. Ghana currently has 772 New Cases, 5,515 Active Cases, and 424 deaths as of February 3, 2021. This has mostly been attributed to the new variants of the virus that are more infectious than the previous.

Nurses and Midwives at the frontline of the fight against covid-19 are also seeing a surge in the rate of infections among themselves. A couple of nurses and midwives have lost their lives battling with covid-19 (NURSE IN BOLGATANGA DIES OF COVID-19) with many others being infected.

At Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti Region, about thirty-six (36) nurses have tested positive for coronavirus within one month, reports indicate. Not only at KATH, but nurses at various isolation centers and hospitals are also getting infected in their line of duty.
