The Liberia Board of Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) will conduct its first online licensing examination for Nursing and Midwifery Trainees in Liberia. The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana will be providing technical support to the LBNM to conduct its examinations which are scheduled for October 2021. Prior to the visit, in 2019, a four-member delegation from the Liberia Board of Nursing and Midwifery visited the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana to understudy its operations.
Mrs. Cecelia Chuchu Kpangbala-Flomo, the Registrar of the Liberia Board of Nursing and Midwifery, and her team paid a working visit to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana as part of preparations for the conduct of the examinations in Liberia as Ghana is currently conducting its Licensing examination. The Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Mr. Felix Nyante, together with the Liberian team, toured some of the examination centers.
According to Mr. Nyante, Registrar of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana, Mr. Nyante said that the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s strict regulatory systems regarding nursing and midwifery training, education, and practice have earned worldwide reputation and that was the reason more countries continued to send delegates to understudy its operations. He noted that the regulatory visit would help the Liberian government set up an effective regulatory framework for nursing and midwifery professionals. He added that the Council will continue to provide professional support to countries that would want to strengthen their nursing and midwifery regulations.
